A Toast To The VMA Ass hole

No really, hats off to Yeezy, Cheers. I've been meaning to do a review of his Power Trailer (video) and I kept putting it off. But I guess that just gave me more time to say what I think about a few more things that happened.

First off Kanye makes Twitter the fun place on the internet. And his stream of consciousness tweet and apology to Taylor swift, had us all hanging onto his every tweet, I was so happy to hear that the EGO was gonna take a back seat and music was gonna drive the Maybach again. I just wanted to give Kanye a hug at that moment, and then, I wanted to move on.

But then the VMA's happen and Taylor sings her "I forgive you Kanye" (tears*) song. I don't know exactly what to think about that one. On one hand it could be a very magnanimous gesture to end the whole thing, but then I cant help but think; come on, the guy was rude, he didn't rob a bank ("You are not what you did".... ?????) sounds like little Miss America's Sweet heart needs to get over her self. It was a Moon man not a Pulitzer......Anywho, Yeezy did well in his performance of a song none of us had ever heard and my glass was definitely up, SALUD!!.

So to the video. Can anyone say splendiferous genius on film. I LOVE IT!. I had previously proclaimed Jay Z's On To The Next One Video as the best I had seen in a couple years, but Power is the Best Video Of All Time ( Kanye voice)*.

Now some may read too little into the video; Kanye thinks he's a god, there he goes on another Ego trip. Some may read too much; Devil worshipper!! he said the clock is ticking!! 0_o. But isn't that a bit too shallow for someone with a mind like Mr. West? The truth is a lot less complicated than the occult and a lot more complex than Ego. This video is insightful, it's 120 seconds of truth.

It is powerful and amazing Hip Hop, with drums and a base line that just slaps you in the face. With samples from King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man, its reminiscent of Stronger a few years back. Kanye is Smart, forward thinking and not complacent, he brought it; real Hip Hop Class.

The video is an explanation of his lyrics, at face value he addresses his "haters" with breath taking delivery and epic word play that lets out his frustration and despite its length it speaks volumes. To get the point you only have to look at one item in his moving portrait. The sword of Damocles suspended above his head. Damocles was a courtier of King Dionysius II of Sarycuse. He saw that Damocles longed for glory, and offered to switch places for the day, so Damocles could live as a King. The legend goes that Damocles took full advantage - indulging in food, music, entertainment, sex, until the day ended. He just so happened to look up and see a sharpened sword poised directly above his head, suspended by a single horse-hair. He suddenly lost his appetite for all the things he loved; all the beautiful girls seemed cold and ugly; the food no longer satisfied him. So he asked Dionysius to release him from the nightmare; he no longer wanted to be privileged with such fortune.Dionysius had successfully proven to Damocles a sense of the constant fear in which even great men live in.

Its a magnificent return to form for Yeezy. Kanye is Damocles himself in a position of power that eats away at him. the girls are his excesses and the men with knives and swords his fears.  In the end all that remains are his fears, the power, the perks, the inflated ego means nothing.
"No man should ever have that much power/Clock keeps tickin' I just count the hours/Stop trippin', I'm trippin’ off the power",
After the whole Taylor Swift incident things haven't been great with Kanye, and lets face it he wasn't on top of his game for a while now, but things seem to be looking up, as he comes to realize that Power isn't all its cracked up to be. Back to making magnificent music

I give it 10/10

Somebody Has To Say It

If You wouldn't write it and sign it, don't say it- Earl Wilson

So I decided to make a blog about all the things I usually think but never say, we all have them, so here's my list.

Americans are intolerant, hypocrites who have a worped sense of importance

Watching FOX News makes me sick to my stomach, no really I want to puke (Covers mouth and runs to the bathroom) and the worst part is that people actually take them seriously.

Lindsay Lohan is a Twit.

Kanye West has no class , no manners and is a very common man, all that Rosewood crap is just make believe. It's a good thing I can separate the man from his music.

Roses are over rated, I think they smell funny and there are so many other beautiful flowers that do smell divine, why do people insist on roses is beyond me.

Facebook and Twitter gives most people a false sense of importance, why do you think I care what you think or want to hear what you're having for dinner. Come to think of it, so does Blogger :)

Chris Rock is the greatest comedian alive

Friendship is a usually symbiotic relationship that can be mutualistic, commensal or parasitic in nature ............. o_O

Montana Fishburne needs to fall and hit her head AGAIN maybe that would wake her the heck up. Stupid hoodrat looking twit, somebody tell the braud that is not role model behaviour!!

Justin Biber is the most annoying famous person, he's even more annoying than The Jonas Bros, he's more annoying than Kanye West, he's even making Usher annoying, Ohh wait, Usher was annoying before that wasn't he ?? Doh!! 0_o (Homer voice).

Celebrity gossip news always exaggerate, we all know it's not a REAL scandal unless it involves a Brazilian transvestite.

Girls Next Door, Jersey Shore, Big Brother, Bad Girls' Club and other such Reality shows are STUPID!!

Phew!! I'm glad I got that off my chest :)

The Cove

Taiji is a seemingly beautiful, peaceful, small fishing town in Japan. If you have ever been to or seen photos of Japan's coast line, it will come as no surprise that it could well be among THE most stunning vistas on the planet. The Cove, a documentary by Luc Besson, reveals a sinister and bloody secret that lies just below the surface of the waters of Taiji.

If you have not seen The Cove you need to, the slaughter of thousands of Dolphins without justification is a pratcice that the fishermen of Taiji and the government of Japan are bent on continuing. They attempt to sell it as an innocent traditional activity, but there is so much going on that needs our attention. The ignorant mindless slaughter and torturing of Dolphins; mercury poising and the pimping of small bankrupt nations and third world countries that receive financial support from Japan in exchange for a vote in the International Whaling Commission (IWC), which (by the way) does not even acknowledge the massacre of an obscene number of Dolphins in Japan and worldwide each year. Dolphins are intelligent, self aware mammals and such indiscriminate, unregulated butchery of one of the few animals that truly make knowing human connection is something to be concerned about .

Fortunately since the release of this film there have been some changes, however there is still plenty to be done and we can all contribute to the cause, whether it be a donation, education (spread the word) or front line work. you can visit their official website to make you contribution. http://www.takepart.com/thecove

After watching this documentary I felt it would have been sinful not to act. This is not just a phenomenon that occurs in Japan it happens all over the world and we can help to stop it. The website gives you options, you can even begin to make a difference from behind your computer; like me. Visit their website get educated and make a difference.

Bloody Love

Love bleeds,

a strangled cry escapes her lips

as in an ocean of hatred her blood it drips.

Her tears are smeared across her heavenly face,

Charity it seems has lost her grace.

Love's seed are dug up from their nesting place

scattered to the winds

gone to waste.

Love weeps, for hope has died,

buried deep, but long lives pride.

From these evils none can hide .

Poor love has drowned in high tide.

Battered and broken

tormented and strained ,

Love's chaste name has now been stained.

Doubt kills Faith and Fear consumes,

our once kind Love , she needs no room

for truth or trust or perfect plans.

Love's heart lies broken in her hands.

(500) Days of Summer

"Boy meets girl, Boy falls in love, Girl doesn't"

A story about love but not a love story. (500) Days of summer is the most truthful romantic comedy I have ever seen. I absolutely fell in love with this movie, perhaps its Summer's quirky charm, or Tom's sweet likable-ness. Maybe it's the amazing cinematography and off beat editing that Indie films deliver, or maybe it's the near perfect sound track (the best since Juno). What ever it is, this movie is a must see, It shatters all the "rules" of the Hollywood romance and yet it is an honest look at having loved and lost.

Tom the hopeless romantic falls in love with Summer, the girl who every other guy wants but can never have, the girl who believes that love isn't real. The cut and paste editing is a reflection of Tom's memory of his year and a half with Summer, in memory we choose what we want to remember. The film highlights the good and the bad of falling in love. We see how Tom suffers and looses his faith in love. And just like Tom one minute we love Summer and the next we think she's such a bitch.

The movie is full of heart and truth and soul. It is a remarkably insightful and funny reinvention of the genre and if you have ever loved and lost this movie would be easy company. Director Marc Webb shines in his feature film and I honestly can't wait to see
where he goes from here.

P.S: This movie reminds me of Juno, in fact I think I'm gonna watch that right now.

CUT

MY VEINS OPEN
WIDE OPEN
SPILL MY SORROW
THAT RUNS DOWN MY ARM
AND DRIPS FROM MY ELBOW
AND FORMS A RANCID POOL AT MY FEET.

DESCENDING MOUNT DOOM

LIFE IS REALLY A TRIP. I'VE BEEN GONE FOR A MINUTE, BUT NOW I'M BACK WITH THE JUMP OFF. READY TO BLOG ONCE MORE. THINGS HAVE TAKEN MANY UNEXPECTED TURNS FOR ME DURING THE LAST FEW MONTHS. I WOULD BE LYING IF I SAID THAT IT'S ALL GOOD, BUT I HAVE LEARNT SO VERY MUCH, ABOUT MYSELF, ABOUT THE WORLD AND ABOUT HUMAN NATURE IN GENERAL; THAT PERHAPS I CAN SAY THAT IT'S MUCH BETTER, BETTER THAT IT WAS BEFORE [PLAYING POLLYANA'S GLAD GAME :) ].

EVEN SO, THE STRUGGLE IS ALWAYS WELCOME AFTER IT HAS LEFT. ONLY THEN CAN WE REALLY APPRECIATE IT'S MANY LESSONS, AND TAKE THE TIME TO CONVERT THE PAIN INTO GROWTH. SOMETIMES GOING IN THE DIRECTION THAT WE NEED TO GO IS DIFFICULT AND SOMETIMES THE ROAD IS FILLED WITH SHARP STONES AND BRIERS, BUT TRUE AND SIGNIFICANT GROWTH HAPPENS DURING THESE PERILOUS JOURNEYS. YOU JUST ASK FRODO, MOUNT DOOM WAS TRULY A BITCH, AND MAYBE HE WAS NEVER THE SAME AGAIN, BUT SOME PAIN IS NECESSARY AND GOES BEYOND SELF. THE WISDOM AND STRENGTH GAINED AT THE END OF IT ALL, MAKES THE WHOLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE SOMEHOW WORTH IT. (ALTHOUGH I'M PRETTY SURE FRODO WOULD DISAGREE WITH ME)

AND YET, ON THE ROAD OF LIFE THERE ARE NO DEAD ENDS,  WHERE ONE STORY ENDS ANOTHER BEGINS, AND THE FIGHT EVER ONGOING, SO GAME FACE ON, LIGHT FOOTED AND SMILING HEART I AM READY TO TAKE ON THE WORLD.

RUNAWAY

RUN AWAY CHILD.
RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK.
MAKE HASTE AND MILES OF DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND THIS PLACE,
AND TAKE WITH YOU YOUR BROKEN DREAMS.
RUN AND MAKE TIME MEAN NOTHING.
LET YOUR FEET AND THE NIGHT AIR CARRY YOU AWAY,
NO LUGGAGE;
JUST YOUR BAGGAGE AND YOUR THOUGHTS,
AND  THE CLOTHES ON YOUR BACK.
RUN AWAY CHILD, AND DON'T LOOK BACK.

On To The Next One

Now despite all the conspiracy theories about J and this video that are floating about (which by the way i think is bull shit, and I'm not about to make this blog about whether Jay-Z is a Devil worshiper or not) [rolls eyes*], The video is actually pretty awesome. With his vision and director Sam Brown's talent, an edgy, artsy but luxuriously visual video was created. The camera movements are pretty simple but that is only to accommodate the striking imagery, a mix of art and pop culture that obviously makes a strong statement. Since 99 problems rap videos have become more and more artistic and complexed, not just about shiny jewelry, half naked women or overly pricey cars, but real thought provoking content or in other words art.

Oh, and by the way The Blue print 3 is my favorite album for this year I constantly have it on replay so i suggest you lend it an ear.
